Music Guesser lets you use your physical Hitster game cards with your Spotify playlists! Scan the QR code on a Hitster song card to load all song years from the pack, select one of your Spotify playlists, and then scan individual Hitster song cards. The app will play a song from your playlist that matches the year of the scanned Hitster card. Guess the song, reveal the details, and have fun!
Connect to Spotify:
First, you'll need to sign in with your Spotify account. This allows Music Guesser to play music through a dedicated web player and access your playlists. Ensure the "Music Guesser Web Player" device is active in your Spotify app.
Load Hitster Gameset:
Scan the QR code found on your Hitster game box or any Hitster card. This tells the app which set of song years you're playing with.
Select Your Playlist:
Choose one of your Spotify playlists, or search for any public playlist on Spotify. Music Guesser will try to match songs from this playlist to the years on your Hitster cards.
Review Playlist Coverage:
The app will show you which years from the Hitster gameset are missing songs in your selected playlist. You can still play, but cards for these missing years won't have a corresponding song from your playlist. Once reviewed, click "Start Playing"!
Scan a Song Card:
Use the QR scanner to scan a Hitster song card. The app will identify the card's year.
Guess the Song:
If a matching song from your selected playlist is found for that year, it will start playing. Guess the song title and artist!
Reveal Details:
Once you've guessed (or given up!), click the "Reveal Song Info" button. The song's title, artist, album art, and release year will be displayed. The QR scanner will then be ready for the next card.
Change Setup:
If you want to change your playlist or gameset, click the "Back to Setup" button.
